Relational Trauma Coaching

Toxic relationships can be painful, draining, and costly. They can distance you from your passion & purpose and derail you from your goals. You can stew in these misaligned and abusive relationships for months, years, and even decades before you realize the reality of your situation. It doesn’t take much time before you’re knee-deep in toxic patterns that waste your time or, worse, dysregulate you, causing long-lasting trauma or worse.

Whether you were born into a toxic system or healing from a personal relationship, coaching can help build or rebuild a foundation of awareness that puts you back in the driver’s seat, even if it’s impractical to disconnect from the toxic person.

State of Confusion: Individual and group toxic relationships can be exhausting and confusing. Oftentimes, we blame ourselves for these states because we don’t know any different or because we have been conditioned to do so.

Coaching can help you:

  • Share your experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment

  • Create awareness around common feelings of being the recipient of toxic behavior

  • Explore and redirect accountability, if necessary

  • Access informational resources

Let It Sink In: As your awareness increases and the stories unfold, you may come to terms with the realities of your situation. This may be the moment when you find action steps helpful.

Coaching can help you:

  • Identify red flags

  • Create boundaries

  • Plan a navigation strategy

  • Identify any support systems

Two (Or More) Things At The Same Time: While exploring, processing, and healing, it’s common to feel a sense of relief and grief (and so much more) at the same time. When you become more aware and feel empowered to do something about your situation, you may experience a multitude of emotions and thoughts that are contradictory.

Coaching can help you:

  • Look at patterns that don’t serve you, so that you are more mindful not to step into them again

  • Process a new set of emotions like anger, grief, resentment

  • Create habits that support your safety, health, and well-being

  • Discover the old or new you that focuses on your well-being

Don’t Look Back In Anger (Or Maybe You Should): The healing process can have its ups and downs. You may have to practice patience and great restraint, but you also may get to a point when you say to yourself, “I won’t ever do that again!” You may have learned that anger is unacceptable, but what if it's powerful healing guidance for you?

Coaching can help you:

  • Further explore your healing process with emotional acceptance

  • Build resilience through emotional regulation tools

  • Self-forgive

  • Design what’s next for you

The Gift: When you have clarity and you’re ready to look at your relationships objectively, are curious, open to learning, and are ready to apply new ways of being, you're in Post Traumatic Growth (PTG). It’s a beautiful place to be in the coaching and healing process.

Coaching can help you:

  • Be accountable for your well-being

  • Objectively explore new relationships and live in the present

  • Build confidence

  • Find purpose in sharing your story with others
